Stihl KMA80R Power Unit Shell

The STIHL KMA 80 R is the first battery-powered KombiMotor in the AK System of garden equipment, and it is intended for use in residential gardens. It is powered by a 36-volt lithium-ion battery and is quiet, efficient, and powerful enough to handle a wide range of gardening activities, including pruning, trimming, mowing, clearing, and cutting. Attaching and changing tools is also made simple, as it is compatible with all KombiTools (except the FSB-KM). Simply insert your selected tool into the shaft and tighten to hold it in place.

Fitted with a new type loop handle with a quick-mounting system, allowing you to adjust the handle to your height for an ergonomic work position. This handle also makes it easier to complete chores on slopes, around trees, and on uneven terrain. The KMA 80 R features a powerful brushless EC motor with speed adjustment on the control lever, which can be adjusted to two different speeds. There is an ECO mode (level 1) for KombiTools that is designed for easy activities like trimming lawn edges, resulting in decreased energy usage and longer battery life. There is also full speed mode (level 2) for KombiTools, which is best suited to jobs that require greater power, such as leaf clearing, which takes additional battery charge. However, depending on the KombiTool used, the speed adjustment can be indefinitely changeable.

You can use any of the AK batteries with the KMA 80, although the operating time will vary depending on the attachment. The recommended AK 30 battery will provide the longest working time but is also the heaviest of the AK batteries, so you may want to use a smaller capacity battery if you plan on using the tool for an extended amount of time, such as for hedge cutting.

The KMA 80 R comes with a basic harness as standard. KombiTools are available separately.
